Master your Disaster with Duct Tape

Did you know Duct Tape came from a mother’s idea? Aren't moms the best!
Vesta Stoudt’s two sons were serving in the military in the 1940’s
and Vesta took a job packing ammunition. The tape being used was
problematic for the soldiers and Vesta took this problem to heart. Her
solution was a cloth tape that was waterproof, originally called DuckTape. Read more about the origins of Duct Tape here. http://www.kilmerhouse.com/2012/06/the-woman-who-invented-duct-tape/.

A moving decision

My son drove by a car in Ohio and sent me the picture of the
duct-taped car you see here.

It got me thinking about all the repairs we use duct tape for. Once a plumber I hired decided to use a margarine lid and duct tape to repair a large sewer pipe in my basement about 15 years ago. It is still holding and saved me $100’s of dollars.

Do you remember when Duct Tape was only one brand, one color, one size? Now we have a variety of colors and brands. Check out our Gorilla Tape and Glue! http://www.gorillatough.com/virtual-tour

I use the Gorilla glue to glue a lot of household items like a broken shelf in the refrigerator, a broken vase and even a light switch cover. Once my border collie had surgery and kept breaking the cone for her head. I got tired of buying new ones and duct-taped the last cone she wore. You should have seen the looks she got when we walked down the street. She was one taped up cone-head dog.

The Gorilla Glue Company is based in Cincinnati Ohio and manufacturers here in the USA! Gorilla tape sticks to rough and uneven surfaces – even brick! But our shelves go far beyond the jungle – we have other duct tape, electrical tape, painters tape, masking tape in different sizes. Think you need to replace it, maybe you just need to tape it! Come visit us and tell us your great tape/glue story! Here is a tip for removing the sticky residue - use a clean cloth, apply W-40 and wipe away!

Power Tool and Supply announces they are certified as Woman Business Enterprise through NWBOC

Power Tool and Supply announces they are Certified as a Woman Business Enterprise.

Power Tool and Supply Co. an industrial tool and supply distribution center and retail store located in Youngstown, Ohio, has been certified as a business owned and controlled by a woman by the National Women Business Owners Corporation (NWBOC), the first national certifier of women Business Enterprises. Over 700 public and private sector individuals participated in establishing the Standards and Procedures of this rigid certification review. The goal of the certification program is to increase the ability of Power Tool and Supply to compete for contracts at a national level.

“Certification provides a marketing opportunity for women business enterprises to participate in outreach programs,” said Lisa Springer, owner. “In addition, this program will enable us to develop relationships with larger companies and create opportunities for future partnerships with them.

“NWBOC seeks to increase the ability of women business owners to compete for corporate and government contracts,” stated Janet Harris-Lange, President of NWBOC. “At the same time, NWBOC also hopes to decrease the number of front operations participating in corporate and government outreach programs.”

NWBOC, a national 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation, was created in response to needs identified by the Procurement Special Interest Group of the National Association of Women Business Owners. For more information, visit www.nwboc.com
